ICC has announced the Player of the Month awards nominations for September 2025, celebrating the top individual performances. This month’s list features several Indian stars, along with standout performers from Zimbabwe, Pakistan, and South Africa in both men’s and women’s cricket.
Men’s Nominees
- Abhishek Sharma (India)-
India’s aggressive left-handed opening batter keeps on emerging strongly in international cricket. The 24-year-old won Player of the Tournament and helped India win their ninth title in the Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates. With three half-centuries that arrived at crucial times, Abhishek scored 314 runs at an incredible strike rate of 200 in seven T20Is. Throughout the competition, India had explosive starts because of his aggressive batting approach and consistency at the top.
What made his month even more special was his record-breaking 931 rating points in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings , the highest ever recorded in T20I history. Abhishek’s ability to blend aggression with timing has quickly made him one of India’s most exciting prospects across formats.
- Kuldeep Yadav (India)-
Joining Abhishek among the nominees is wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who once again proved to be India’s spin trump card in the Asia Cup. The left-arm spinner finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 17 wickets in seven matches at an average of 9.29 and a brilliant economy of 6.27.
His spell of 4 for 30 in the final against Pakistan was instrumental in India’s title triumph, while his 4 for 7 against UAE set the tone early in the tournament. Kuldeep’s consistency and control in middle overs made it almost impossible for batters to break free, reaffirming his reputation as one of the finest limited-overs spinners in world cricket today.
- Brian Bennett (Zimbabwe)–
Zimbabwe’s young sensation Brian Bennett, just 21, has emerged as one of the brightest batting talents in associate cricket. In September, he scored 497 runs in nine T20Is at an average of 55.22 and a strike rate of 165.66.
Bennett’s courageous batting in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Africa Qualifier was crucial for Zimbabwe’s World Cup qualification. With scores of 72, 65, and 111 to start the competition, he showed off his incredible maturity and power hitting. He is a worthy candidate for this honor because of his consistency over the period of the month.

Women’s Nominees
- Smriti Mandhana (India)–
India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana was in red-hot form during the home ODI series against Australia. The stylish left-hander smashed 308 runs in four matches at an average of 77 and a good strike rate of 135.68. Her 50-ball century in the final ODI became the fastest by an Indian batter in women’s ODI history, and her knocks of 58, 117, and 125 lightened up the series. Despite India’s 1-2 series loss, Mandhana was named Player of the Series for her consistent play and combative attitude.
- Sidra Amin (Pakistan)-
During the ODI series against South Africa, Pakistan’s opener Sidra Amin was in outstanding form, scoring 293 runs at an incredible average of 293.00 in three games. She led Pakistan to a comfort victory by hitting consecutive hundreds (121* and 122) before finishing the series with a composed 50 not out. She has become one of Pakistan’s most dependable batters in recent years thanks to her cool-headed and calm attitude at the top.
- Tazmin Brits (South Africa)–
For South Africa, Tazmin Brits produced two unforgettable knocks in the same series, scoring 101 and 171 in just two matches. Her back-to-back match-winning performances earned her the Player of the Series award and helped South Africa clinch the series 2-1. Brits’ form and composure under pressure continue to establish her as a cornerstone of South Africa’s top order.
Voting Details
Fans can vote for their favourite nominees on the ICC website until October 15, 2025. Final results will be based on a combination of ICC Voting Academy (90%) and fan votes (10%), with winners announced in the second week of October.
